- Massive Inventory & Build Complexity: WHP manages a huge number of stock-keeping units (SKUs) and custom-built product parts. Their “Build Your Own” programme (for pumps and motors) was outdated and limited in range.
- Complex Pricing Structure: Discounts varied based on country, customer type, and product line. They needed a system that could apply these layers of pricing logic reliably.
- Systems Integration Problems: Their existing site didn’t integrate reliably with their main accounting system (Exchequer) or CRM (Gold-Vision). Tools provided by Exchequer for importing website orders were insufficient.
- Global Reach & Multilingual Needs: WHP sells worldwide. They already supported four languages and wanted scalability for more.
- Carrier & Shipping Logic: Accurate delivery costs were essential. They needed real time integrations with multiple carriers (FedEx, DHL, UPS, Royal Mail). Also, regulatory rules for shipping to different countries required dynamic logic.
- Returns & Warranties: There was no robust onsite solution for warranties, returns, and after-sales processes.
- Multi-Currency & Multiple Sites: Customers wanted to pay in their own currencies. Also, a secondary site (Hy Power.com) with different branding/feel was needed.
- Lack of Control & Flexibility: The previous site was rigid; WHP couldn’t update content, imagery, or configurations without external assistance.
- Poor Reliability of Existing E-commerce Tools: Order imports, pricing logic, and SOP (Sales Order Processing) functions were unreliable under the previous system.
